Overview of the Construction Method

- Since the strand is bent in U-shape, the strand must be removed by using equipment after the anchor construction

- The strand is manually removable by rotating the strand in from head & wedge set for settlement

characteristic

- Removal costs are relatively high.

- There is a disadvantage in removal due to spatial constraints such as difficulty in accessing tensioning equipment or removal work under the lining

- When removing the strand, large amount of grease is applied to the strand, so sparate measures are required to prevent contamination of the structure

- The allowable tensile strength can be used up to 10 tons per strand due to the bending processing of the strand (plastic displacement of the P.C. strand is generated by bending at a high load).

- The removal cost is low because strand can be removed manually

- If a problem occurs to strand during anchor construction, it is possible to replace and reconnect after removing the strand

- It is possible to remove strand in narrow spaces

- Less soil contamination due to small amount use of grease

- It is difficult to remove strand if grout enters due to scratches on the covering or damage during handling.
